High Street East

In the broad eastern section of the High Street there’s an interesting mix of independent shops, pubs, clubs and wine bars. Here you’ll also find the weekly market with its colourful range of stalls selling all the usual market produce.

The High Street in this part of the town offers a framing gallery, cycle shops, furniture, fruiterers, newsagents, opticians and a whole lot more. Parking is easy and plentiful and the street is well served by public transport with good access from the bus station at the eastern end of the town.

Station Road/Queen Street

This is the speciality sector of the town with a wealth of small independent shops offering personal service and unusual products for everyday and special occasions.

To give just a flavour, on Station Road you’ll find specialist retailers of ladies fashions, perfumes, shoes, food and drink, kitchens, security goods and lots more.

Queen Street has fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, seafood and meat products, all within walking distance of the Town Clock and major bus routes.
